Also, as promised our new Turtle Worksheet is up so check it out here: http://www.patriotspointblendedlearning.com/supplementary-activities.html Those of you that have been to our class at Patriots Point should know all about ways that we as humans impact our environment. I am sure that one of the first things that might come to your mind is an oil spill but unfortunately that is not the only way we can negatively impact our environment. Just like the sediment we learn about that flows down our waterways making our water turbid so to does our trash. Our trash will then accumulate and has the potential to harm many of our local wildlife species. Fortunately some areas are taking action to help reduce the number or plastic materials that might find their way into the ocean. I am sure that many of you heard about the recent ban that the Folly Beach area just passed on the usage of plastic bags, balloons, and Styrofoam and if you are interested about learning more you can read about it here:

Living here so close to the Atlantic Ocean we all love our seafood. NOAA just came out with some data that suggests the rest of the country might be catching on to just how good are aquatic friends taste. Based on the reported data from the Fisheries of the United States our countries intake of seafood was up by almost a full pound in 2015. If you are interested in learning more about the fishing industry and this report check it out here:
