5. Human solutions to invasive species: the grass carp
In Chapter 5, we see the grass carp eating an invasive weedy plant that has been taking over Lake Murray. This invasive plant was released into the lake accidentally, and now it is taking over. They compete with native plants for space and sunlight, and use up an enormous amount of oxygen. Humans have worked on the problem by introducing the grass carp into the lake.
