During World War II, the USS Yorktown was the home to over 3,000 sailors. Today at Patriots Point, the Yorktown is home to an osprey! Aircraft carriers have a super structure known as an island, or mast of the ship. Our osprey friend has built a nest on top of this structure!
Ospreys, sometimes known as sea hawks, are fish-eating birds of prey. They have specialized physical characteristics, such as large talons, that assist in hunting and catching fish.
