NASA's Mars Rover Perseverance just MADE HISTORY!! It successfully landed on Mars moments ago and is already sending back PICTURES! Perseverance will take many samples, not only of abiotic Martian materials like rocks and Martian soil, but scientists are hoping to find biotic materials or evidence of biotic materials as well. While at first glance Martian ecosystems are not in SC 5th grade science standards there are many connections including force and motion, biotic vs abiotic, human impacts (not contaminating outerspace with Earth microbes and materials) and soft skills including team work and communication.
